About Isaac

Follower of Jesus, husband to Rhonda, father to Jada, Ella, and Lincoln, son of Joel and Becky, brother of Josh and Joel. I am fortunate enough to pastor Summit Church, a community of faith in Orlando, Florida, that we started six years ago. I would like this blog to be helpful for those who read it and, at some point, earn me a lucrative shoe contract.

niceSERVE 13

Posted by Isaac Hunter

I am very grateful…

I am supposed to be putting the finishing touches on the sermon right now. I will get back to that in a minute, but I wanted take a moment to say how grateful I am that I get to serve Jesus alongside people like you.

I have no idea what the final numbers were on niceSERVE today. I don’t know how many of you took the rice and beans challenge, or how many of you have taken significant steps in your life through the “Thrift” series, but I do know that all of it honors God and blesses others…I know there were a bunch of you who did some or all of those things over the last few weeks, and I appreciate it. Your sacrifices—great and small— matter more than you know.

It’s one thing to show up for church on a Sunday morning. It’s a very good thing. It’s another thing altogether to take steps to grow up in Christ, and that is precisely what thousands of you are doing. Keep up the good work.

You inspire me. That is all.
