Meet Guest Teacher Zach Van Dyke
Posted by Rebekah
This weekend we kick off a new sermon series titled Known, and we’re excited to introduce you to our guest teacher for the next three weeks. Get to know Zach Van Dyke!
People liked to tell Zach from the time he was young that he would be a pastor one day—an expectation he fervently denied for many years. But God has a funny way of getting our attention, and Zach was no exception. After attending Florida State and then moving to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career, through circumstances only God could ordain, he surrendered to God’s call to ministry.
As youth pastor at Orangewood Church in Maitland for six years, Zach shared with teenagers the concepts of grace shown through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. He also created a seminar for teenagers called Exposed Freedom to further get the point across that—as Zach often likes to say—it’s all about grace.
Over the past few years, Zach had the opportunity to be mentored by Steve Brown and brought into the Key Life Network, which features biblical teaching through radio broadcasts, seminars, publications, and podcasts. If Zach’s voice sounds familiar, it may be that you’ve heard him on the radio—he frequents the weekend show Steve Brown Etc. as a guest teacher.
Zach and his wife Kelly (children of the ’90s, let that one sink in) have three awesome kids, Oliver (8), Atticus (6), and Alice (4). Zach says his kids know their dad teaches about God’s grace, and even at their young ages are experts at exploiting that fact.
We’re looking forward to what God has to teach us over the next three weeks through the Known series. Join us in welcoming Zach!
