Connecting the "dots” between what God calls us to do now and how it is directly related to what we were originally created for and who we will one day become can be difficult. Sometimes what God calls us to do can seem to be arbitrary or even impossible in our present world.
What area(s) of your life seem like that?
Whether we realize it or not, the choices we make directly reflect our thoughts and feelings. It is important to have the right perception of who we are in Christ and what He calls us to do.
How have you let your true identity in Christ influence the decisions you make?
Isaac talked about three different approaches to spirituality: an approach that is all about doing enough to earn God’s grace; an approach that turns into laziness because of lack of effort; and an approach where appropriate and helpful disciplines are put into place that allow God to work in and through you.
What discipline(s) in your life have become the end result instead of a way of reaching a result?
What area(s) of your life show signs of spiritual passivity?
Where in your life are you creating space for the Spirit of God to move?
