Full Time
Posted by Summit Students
I am officially in my second week of working full-time at Summit. I absolutely love it. If you would’ve asked me a year ago if I would be working full-time at a church and actually loving it, I would have said no way. Looking back on how my life has panned out, it’s really quite amazing to see how God has had his hand in this whole process.
Two years ago, I was totally sick of college, single, and just wanted to be a rock-star. I was in a band, working on a second album, and trying to sell our first one. Things seemed to be going great and I honestly could say that I felt as if this was where God wanted me. Looking back, I still can honestly say that was where God wanted me at that time, but not for the reasons I would have thought then. Now, I can see how he was using that time to shape me as a musician and give me the experience necessary to serve within a worship context. It is really so fascinating to see how God’s hand was there every step of the way.
That was a brief version of the whole story of me, now working full-time at a church. The full story is much longer and drawn out and probably a lot of it I really don’t even know how to put into words, however, looking back on that little bit of my story I just shared really helps remind me how much God is so involved in my life. What a crazy thing; that the God of the universe cares about me so much that He’d take the time to make sure I was in a little band for the right amount of time, learned what I needed to in order to prepare me for a job, that I would have never guessed I would be working at, but love every second of it.
