Partnership Class is designed for those regular attenders who are exploring what it means to fully invest in ministry at Summit. It is our version of most churches’ membership course. The class offers you the opportunity to find out more about Summit’s vision, values, structure and strategy. We walk through the basic tenets of Faith, what we believe in as a church, and what partnership in this community is all about. For some, this class will be a spirited review, but our desire is to always present what makes us who we are with thorough authenticity.
Taking this class does not automatically make you a partner. It is intended to give each attendee the necessary information to make that decision.
PARTNERSHIP: WHAT IS IT?
By becoming a partner at Summit, you are joining this body in ministry. With so much at stake, we want to be clear in communicating what it means to be a partner, what we expect of partners, and what partners can expect from the body of Christ at Summit.
What We Expect of Partners
• Partners must be followers of Jesus.
• Partners should be baptized (or plan to be within the next year).
• Partners should seek meaningful relationships with people who do not know Christ, and have the courage to communicate the gospel in the context of these relationships.
• Partners are expected to take an active and primary role in their spiritual growth in the midst of authentic community.
• Partners are expected to tithe to Summit.
• Partners are expected to pray for Summit.
• Partners are expected to serve with Summit.
• Partners should seek to become increasingly effective in ministry by developing and utilizing their talents, gifts, skills, and resources.
What You Can Expect from Summit
• You can expect Summit to care about you, and encourage accountability as you are striving to become more like Christ. We will not let you easily wreck your life.
• You can expect Summit to help you create environments of authentic community where spiritual growth will take place.
• You can expect Summit to pray for you.
• You can expect Summit to serve with you.
• You can expect Summit to be above reproach in utilizing the resources God has given us, committed to living out the vision God has given us, and continuing to build the Christ-honoring community that we have been called to build.
