Acts in the Aftermath
The hard reality of following Jesus is that we’re asked to take action in the midst of uncertainties. Living by faith makes it hard to gage our progress in a culture that demands tangible results. Living by faith makes conversations awkward because we’re asking others to consider what we don’t fully comprehend. Living by faith makes it hard to act on what we do understand because of all the things we don’t understand. But what if living by faith is the only way for us to learn what we can really be sure of? What if all our stumbling and getting back up is what testifies to others the depth of our certainty?
What if our joy in our dubious circumstances is an evangelism more potent than measurable data? What if following Jesus means you won’t always know where you’re going, but you’ll know it’s more beautiful than any place you’ve set out for on your own?
