Mastering Affluence
Are you ready for this? You are rich. I know it doesn’t it feel like it. It seems like finances wouldn’t be so stressful if that were true. But it is (true) and they still are (stressful)—why? For a lot of us, it comes down to this: the affluence we’ve been entrusted with has mastered us. We’re slaves when we should be stewards.
When our desire to serve Jesus collides with our wealth, the issues that arise aren’t always what you think. We feel guilty about what we have when we shouldn’t. We think debt is as ordinary as it is common. We think God is great as long as he doesn’t ask for more than He’s “supposed to.” Etcetera, etcetera.
This series walks us through these issues and more, knowing that freedom never comes from perfecting the craft of slavery… it comes from knowing the Deliverer who loves us and loves to see us “get it”.
