Base Camp Summer Show Casting Call
Base Camp will be putting on a show this summer! Morgan and the Mumbo Jumbo Mystery will be showing June 22nd and June 29th! You know what this means. We’ve got to do a casting call!
Important Dates
The deadline to submit the audition form is Tuesday, April 16th.
Auditions will be held Thursday, April 18th, at 6:30 p.m. at Summit Orlando in the BCL Theatre.
Age Requirement
Must be 12+
What is Morgan and the Mumbo Jumbo Mystery!?
A one-act play created for Base Camp families and friends where the Johnson family is prepping for a big move. This is an all-hands-on-deck situation! While the kids are tasked with packing up the family library, they uncover a curious mystery in the process. Our audience will be following along as our characters discover decades-old clues hidden right under their noses!
Audition Details

Characters:
(names and genders are flexible for each of the child characters)
LEAD ROLES
Morgan (10-11 years old)
The younger sibling. Morgan is extremely bright, has a lively imagination, and is filled with optimism and energy. Morgan is fascinated by puzzles and storytelling and escapes into his/her own mind to play pretend, explore new possibilities, and distract himself/herself from stressful situations.
Annie (12-13 years old)
The older sibling. Annie is a rule follower at heart and sometimes loses patience with the whims of his/her younger sibling. He/She has a soft spot for animals (but not bugs!)
SUPPORTING ROLES
Mom
Mom is just trying to keep everything together while caring for the needs of her family. She loves creating memories (and collecting souvenirs) and has a forgotten passion for plants.
Dad
He tries to hide his stress, but this time, he’s bitten off more than he can chew. He loves his family more than anything and shares his youngest daughter’s love of puzzles.
